WHO IS BRITNEY?
It took finding out I had an incurable blood disorder that may progress and eventually kill me to finally start living. I know we hear messages like that all the time from, Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Are Dying" to inspirational quotes and speeches that make us more mindful of our time here on earth, at least more mindful of our time here for about a week. Then worry creeps back in, we get busy, we stop being mindful. We just stop BEING.
It was finding out that I was "sick" that I snapped out of my fear of living, truly living. I like predictability, I like knowing how things are going to work out for me, I like knowing there is little ,to no risk, for my family. However that fear and need for security for my family has stunted my instincts to do something more meaningful with my life. This fear came from my abusive and traumatic past.
Because of my traumatic past I have made poor life decisions, I hurt not just myself (which was my goal to be honest), but I also hurt those who loved me unintentionally.
